What you'll see
Tribe Gate is Havelock's gentlest reef — a sunlit coral garden in 8–12m of clear, warm water (27–30°C, visibility often 15–25m). Clownfish dart through their anemones, parrotfish crunch the coral, and butterflyfish drift past in pairs. You'll likely meet a green sea turtle grazing the seagrass, while shoals of electric-blue chromis part around you. Shallow, calm and alive — the reason most first dives in Havelock happen right here.
Who it's for
Built for absolute beginners. You don't need swimming experience or any diving background — Tribe Gate's shallow, current-free water and an instructor who stays within arm's reach make this the gentlest possible introduction to scuba.
How it works
Arrive & meet
We collect you from anywhere within 5km of the jetty. No forms to fill out under pressure — you'll meet your PADI instructor with time to spare before the boat leaves.
Safety brief
A few minutes is all it takes: two hand signals and the one rule that matters — never hold your breath underwater.
Gear up
Your instructor fits your mask, fins and BCD personally and runs through a buddy check before you go near the water.
Your dive
20 minutes over the shallow reef, your instructor at arm's reach the entire time.
Photos & video
2 HD photos and 2 minutes of GoPro footage, shot during the dive and handed over free.
